Este pasado fin de semana del 13-14 de junio, se celebró en Calafell (Tarragona) la octava concentración de Tuning Vag, un sitio reservado para VW, SEAT, AUDI y SCODA, y nosotros estuvimos allí, la verdad es que los dos euros y medio que pagamos de entrada salieron a cuenta ya que valió mucho la pena, los de la MAXITUNING estuvieron allí, y hay que decri que hay nivel a dia de hoy. El GERMAN, fue el estilo que dominó, como era de esperar, se utiliza lógicamente en bases de VW habitualmente, aunque también apareció otro estilo como el DUB y el RACING, que se atrevieron con bases de Seats.
Sólo decir que esta concentración no ha aclarado la mente, y ahora estamos más seguros que nosotros nos dedicaremos al Tuning como empresa y por supuesto competiremos con los demás.



HISTORIA DEL TUNING

Para empezar a ocupar espacio en este blog empezaremos en recordar un poco de historia.....pero historia de la buena, la historia del Tuning:


El Tuning se originó en Europa, concretamente en Alemania entre 1960 y 1970, aunque también es verdad que en America apareció el llamado Low Rider, en los años 50, pero aún no se consideraba como Tuning. Si bien existen diversas tendencias, el estilo actualmente más influyente es el de Estados Unidos, gracias a un gran mercado de importación de recambios.


No cabe duda de la gran expansión de este fenómeno, especialmente en gente joven. Hoy en día hay una gran cantidad de concentraciones de fans, prensa especializada, accesorios, etc. adicionalmente, los medios y la televisión han influido considerablemente en la aceptación del concepto Tuning como moda y estilo como lo prueban películas como A Todo Gas, con el famoso Vin Diesel en cabeza.

El Tuning es uno de los elementos que últimamente y cada día mas gusta a la gente, y que alguna gente tiene ese sueño de poder dedicarse al Tuning o que es lo mismo personalización de tu coche. Para algunos, aprender cómo se debe personalizar un automóvil lleva mucho tiempo, y se precisa experiencia para lograr un buen automóvil. Muchas personas rechazan el Tuning porque el resultado es demasiado exhibicionista o de mal gusto.
Para otros, hay que saber un poco de mecánica porque el rendimiento del vehículo es aún más importante que el aspecto ("más vale la belleza interior que la exterior"). Para varios fanáticos de las carreras, un auto tuneado puede no tener el rendimiento de otros automóviles menos llamativos. Algunos detestan el Tuning porque las prestaciones ni se acercan a lo que aparentan.

NOTICIA DE LA SEMANA

La noticia del día es el nuevo Opel Astra GTC Pam Design "Tuning de serie"
Para preparar un coche tuning tenemos muchas opciones, y algunas de ellas muy fáciles. Hablamos del ‘tuning de serie’, un término que abarca las preparaciones que ya están listas para montar en cada coche. Es decir, kits de carrocería específicos que se amoldan perfectamente a las estructuras de los distintos modelos y no presentan complicaciones en el montaje.
Aquí tenemos el kit de Pam Design para Opel Astra GTC, que sigue el magnífico diseño de los últimos trabajos de este preparador francés. Con el nombre de GTO, el kit incluye paragolpes delantero y trasero, calandra, taloneras, alisado del portón y pestañas en los faros. Junto al kit de carrocería, unas llantas Targa y dos salidas de escape. En esta ocasión Pam Design vistió su Opel Astra GTC de color champagne con el techo en negro mate. Una muestra más de que el ‘tuning de serie’ es una opción a tener muy en cuenta.
Cada vez el Tuning es más fácil de practicar y económicamente está casi al alcance de todo el mundo.

OTRA POLE PARA VETTEL, ESTA VEZ EN CHINA



Sebastian Vettel, saldrá mañana en el Gran Preimo de China, en Pole Position, después de una ajustada Q3, dónde no se ha decidido el primer lugar hasta el último segundo, Vettel ha marcado un tiempo de 1.34.558. Su compañero de equipo Mark Webber ha quedado detrás de él por escasas décimas, y por lo tanto, los dos RedBull saldrán en la primera línea de la parrilla.

En tercera posición saldrá Fernando Alonso con su Ferrari, con hambre de victoria después de lo que ocurrió en Malaysia y con ganas de volver a posicionarse líder de la clasificación. Nicko Rosberg saldrá al lado del piloto español, después de hacer un gran papel en las fases de clasificación, dónde ha ido de menos a más y en los últimos instantes ha hecho un gran salto en la clasificación, mañana pues, posible podio para Rosberg con su Mercedes GP.

En quinta y sexta posición saldrán los dos McLarens, Jenson Button delante de Jenson Button, que ha asegurado que su monoplaza ha mejorado notablemente para esta carrera y su objetivo es ganar.

Felipe Massa saldrá en séptima posición, por la parte mala de la pista, así que tendrá que ir con cuidado que no se cuele el Renault de Robert Kubica que saldrá en octava posición, después de conseguir un merecidísimo podio en el último Gran Premio.

Detrás de Kubica, en novena posición saldrá Michael Schumacher, que hasta ahora, no se ha hecho ver en la parte delantera de la clasificación en ninguna carrera, aunque su comportamiento y su monoplaza también han ido de menos a más.

Cerrando la zona de puntos, saldrá Adrian Sutil con su Force India, seguido de Rubens Barichello, que ha terminado la sesión de entrenamiento posicionando su Williams en undécima posición.

Jaume Alguersuari, esta vez no ha conseguido llegar a la Q3, pero saldrá en decimosegunda posición, y aspira a los puntos, como lo demostró en Malaysia que consiguió agarrar sus dos primeros puntos después del desafortunado abandono de Fernando Alonso en la última vuelta.

Por detrás de Alguersuari, en decimotercera posición, saldrá Sebastien Buemi, protagonista de uno de los accidentes de esta temporada en los entrenamientos de ayer, cuando su monoplaza perdió las dos ruedas delanteras de repente, a causa de una mala instalación de la nueva amortiguación.

Por detrás de los ToroRosso saldrá Petrov, con su Renault, que tiene ganas de llegar a meta, después de que en los dos anteriores eventos, tubiese que abandonar.

REPORTAJE: VOLKSWAGEN GOLF IV

Hace ya un tiempo os presentamos una gran preparación realizada sobre un Golf V, ahora es el turno de enseñaros este gran trabajo sobre un Volkswagen Golf IV, sí, lo digo bien, no se trata de ningún Audi, sino mirad su trasero, no falla.
Bruto y tirado al suelo, casi apoyando en él una carrocería monobloc ensanchada artesanalmente tras horas de modificaciones sobre una base de un Golf al que han dejado bastante desprovisto de su esencia, Chamorro, desde Málaga, nos presenta su Golf A Todo Color. Una vez más veremos una lucha intensa entre el exterior y el interior de este coche por tomar el protagonismo del público.

MAQUETUNING: VOLKSWAGEN GOLF

Volvemos con la sección de Maquetuning, en esta segunda edición os presentamos a un Volkswagen Golf muy cañero de jrodpin.
El trabajo en la carrocería es muy bueno. En primer lugar se ha recurrido a ensanchar considerablemente toda la carrocería a base de masilla. En la parte delantera podemos ver notables diferencias, el frontal se ha aerodinamizado y se ha dejado una rejilla central en la parte más baja del parachoques. Desde la delantera se observa el ensanche de las aletas también espectacular.



La parte trasera sigue la línea del parachoques delantero, con una lisado de portón completo y muy limpio y conservando la rejilla central únicamente en la parte de abajo. El spoiler de serie ha sido alargado ligeramente, adquiriendo otro carácter.

A 1974 Ford Falcon XB Ute found for Sale in America


If you consider the distance between Australia and America and even more so the country's right-hand drive (RHD) policy, it's not hard to see why classic Aussie vehicles are a rarer site than special edition Lamborghinis in the States.
But once in a blue moon you'll find an imported model from Down Under available for grabs in the classifieds like this 1974 Ford Falcon XB Ute.

The Ute is an Australian conception that dates back to 1934 with its creation credited to Ford engineer and designer Lew Bandt who came up with the idea of combining the front cabin of a sedan with the back of a small truck.

The most popular Utes in the country are made by local carmakers Holden and Ford. The one you see in these pictures is a 1974 model based on the third generation Falcon and it comes with a 302 cubic inch (4.9-liters) Cleveland V8 matched to a four-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

NOVEDAD: RENAULT KOLEOS




Todos conocemos al Renault Koleos, el primer SUV atrevido que lanzó Renault, con una estética atrevida, un carácter que rompía con la tradicionalidad de los modelos de la marca, con aspiraciones importantes, pero que sin embargo no ha terminado de cuajar en el mercado mundial. A pesar de su estética, de sus buenos motores y una amplia gama para escoger, la mayoría de usuarios interesados en un SUV, han pasado de largo de la opción de comprar un Renault Koleos.

Está claro que actualmente el mundo del SUV o todocaminos se ha puesto de moda en todo el mundo, así que las marcas han apostado por sacar nuevos modelos de dicha categoría, algunos se estrenaban, como en el caso de Renault, y con la cantidad de rivales que se ha encontrado, puede haber sido la causa de su poco éxito en ventas.

The crew over at Japan's Car Nifty sent us this video of the new 2012 Ferrari 599XX Evolution performing its first runs on the track at Suzuka following the racing car's world premiere at the Bologna Motor Show last December.
The debut took place during the first event of the Ferrari Racing Days that groups together the races for the entrants in the Asia-Pacific series of the Ferrari Challenge Tofeo Pirelli and the track sessions for clients involved in the 599XX and F1 programmes.

While rumors of a mid-engine Corvette have and will no doubt continue to swirl for the years to come even after the imminent presentation of the C7, GM has no immediate plans to make such a dramatic change to its flagship model.
However, the custom industry is a different story. Enter the world of the V7 Prototype, a custom made 1963 Chevrolet Corvette C2 that's heading to the auction block at the 2012 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Florida, which runs from April 5 to 7.

Renault Confirms Pricing for Refreshed 2012 Megane Range in Britain

Renault today announced that its subtly updated Megane 2012 compact model is available for order now in the UK ahead of its official launch on April 1. On-the-road prices start from £16,275 for the 3-door Hatch, £16,775 for the 5-door Coupé and £17,075 for the estate Sport Tourer.
For 2012, the Megane series gains some minor styling tweaks up front that include the addition of LED daytime running lights from the Dynamique TomTom trim level and above, and a revised bumper with a gloss black finish and chrome highlights, plus a new selection of alloy wheel designs.

After lending its name to several fictional characters including the scientific and engineering genius in the James Bond films as well the omnipotent god-like being in the Star Trek television series, the letter Q has now found a place in Aston Martin's range.

"Q by Aston Martin" is the British firm's new service that is said to bring the automaker's designers together with its engineers and craftspeople allowing customers to personalize their vehicles.

While the sample pictures of the customized Vantage Roadster and Cygnet hatchback released by Aston Martin suggest that this is the stuff we'd make fun of in our Offbeat section, it also shows the amount of personalization the company offers. 
 
The service is for both the exterior and interior styling.

Like the North American (N.A.) model, the European specification Veloster Turbo is equipped with the Hyundai Group's new 1.6-liter T-GDI four-cylinder engine featuring a high-compression, twin-scroll turbocharger and direct-injection technology. 
 
However, whereas the N.A. version's T-GDI delivers 201-horsepower and 264Nm (195 lb-ft) of peak torque, the European model's engine has been slightly wringed down to 183-horses (186PS) while providing a little more torque at 270Nm (199.1 lb-ft).

Pagani the Development and the Birth of the New Huayra

Among the very few new supercar brands that have successfully managed to challenge the establishment and the likes of traditional sports car builders such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti, is Pagani Automobile.
The company that was founded in San Cesario sul Panaro, near Modena in Italy, in 1992 by Horacio Pagani, launched its first model, the V12-powered Zonda, to critical acclaim in 1999.
The Zonda remained in production until 2011 when Pagani presented it's second model, the Huayra at last year's Geneva Motor Show.

Hyundai Releases First Official Renderings of the 2013 Santa Fe

With the Geneva motor show now behind us (at least for the press as it will be open for the public until March 18), automakers are gearing up for the next event which is none other than the 2012 New York International Auto Show in April. 
 
Over the weekend, Hyundai published the first teaser images of the all-new 2013 Santa Fe revealing the exterior design of its mid-size crossover.

At the inaugural race of every Formula 1 season you never really know where each team stands in terms of performance. Sure, there are the favorites, the also-runs, the back markers and oftentimes, the wild cards.
Well, the qualifying race of the Australian Grand Prix that kicked off this year's F1 season certainly had all of the above. But not necessarily in the way most seasoned F1 fans might have expected.
Lewis Hamilton claimed the 20th pole position of his career and Jenson Button lined up right beside him, making it an all-McLaren front row. Not too surprising, as despite the fact that Sebastian Vettel took most pole positions last year, the McLarens had proved to be very fast during testing.

Porsche 911 GT3 Does Away with Most of its Camouflage



Porsche is occasionally getting some flak for sticking with the same layout in the 911 for the past five decades. That’s not entirely true: while the engine has always been placed behind the rear axle, Zuffenhausen can boast that it rolls out more variations of its quintessential model than any other manufacturer.
 
One of them, considered the hardcore driver’s choice, is the GT3. Introduced in the 996 model in 1999, it has always come with a naturally aspirated flat-six based on the racing GT1 unit, a manual gearbox, sportier suspension and chassis setup and less amenities inside. 
 
And one more thing, the GT3 would not tolerate fools behind its responsive steering wheel.

Formula 1: Australian GP Race Results


Every year FIA, the sport’s governing body, changes Formula 1’s technical regulations with the purpose of leveling out the playing field. This forces designers to work within a very strict set of parameters that make gaining an advantage a great challenge.

Despite FIA’s efforts to increase competition even more, F1 is far from becoming something akin to a one-make series. Some teams always make a better job than others do, but we have to wait until each year’s first race before drawing any conclusions.

At the 2012 Australian Grand Prix, the Saturday qualifying session showed us certain things like that the McLaren is currently the fastest car out there, while Red Bull Racing seems to have lost some of its pace due to the rule changes that affected the design of the RB8.

Z06 Centennial Edition to be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach sale
Chevrolet, founded by a racing pioneer 100 years ago, celebrates its performance heritage with the 2012 Chevrolet Centennial Edition Corvette, which features a sleek black color scheme, unique design elements and Corvette’s trademark sports car technology.

The 2012 Centennial Edition package will be available on all Corvette models – including Grand Sport, Z06 and ZR1 – starting this summer.

The special package was inspired by Chevrolet’s racing-bred foundation, which continues with Corvette’s international racing excellence and production sports car prominence.
“Racing and performance are the roots of Chevrolet, a tradition carried forward today by Corvette,” said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. “The Centennial Edition not only celebrates our 100 years, it once again pushes Corvette forward for a new generation of sports car fans.”

Chevrolet will auction a Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in West Palm Beach, Fla., on April 9, with the proceeds to benefit the Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer. It will be the 100th 2012 Corvette off the assembly line, with a vehicle identification number ending in “00100.”
The Chevrolet Centennial Edition Corvette expresses racing heritage, but does so with a sleek, modern, even sinister-looking appearance. The Centennial Edition package comes exclusively in Carbon Flash Metallic, with satin-black graphics and unique Centennial Satin Black wheels and red brake calipers. The wheels are constructed of lightweight cast-spun aluminum and include a thin red outline around the perimeter of its surface on the Z06. The wheels are specific to the respective Corvette models, including 18-inch/19-inch for Coupe, Convertible and Grand Sport; and 19-inch/20-inch for Z06 and ZR1.

Magnetic Selective Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension and a technology advance initiated by Corvette, is included on all Chevrolet Centennial Edition Corvette models.
The Centennial Edition also features special badges that signify Chevrolet’s racing history. A graphic logo featuring an iconic image of Louis Chevrolet appears on the B-pillars, the center caps of the wheels, and the center of the steering wheel. The seat headrests also carry an embossed centennial logo.

Aficionados will note one other small detail: The historic crossed flags badge contains a small adaptation, with “100” in place of the traditional fleur-de-lis symbol, only for the Centennial Edition.

The exterior color scheme is reinforced inside the car, with the Ebony leather-wrapped instrument panel and doors complimented by red stitching on the steering wheel, seats, console and shifter. Microfiber suede accents on Centennial Edition seats, steering wheel, shifter and armrests were first used on the 2011 Z06 Carbon Limited Edition.
The Chevrolet Centennial Edition will be available on all Corvette models via order code ZLC. Pricing will be released this summer prior to the start of availability.

“Louis Chevrolet was a fearless racing pioneer who also designed our first car,” Scheidt said. “Corvette is a natural fit to honor that legacy, while creating a compelling new package for sports car drivers.”

Serving as the basis for the special edition is the C63 AMG, a real race machine that is a serious rival for the BMW M3 and others in class. Corvette Marks 60 Years of Performance with 427 Convertible

DETROIT – Chevrolet today unveiled the 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition – the fastest, most capable convertible in Corvette’s history – as well as a 60th Anniversary Package that will be available on all 2013 Corvette models.

“The 2013 model year will be historic for Corvette, marking its 60th Anniversary and the final year for the current ‘C6’ generation,” said Chris Perry, vice president, Global Marketing and Strategy for Chevrolet. “We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to celebrate these milestones than bringing back one of the most-coveted combinations in the brand’s history – the Corvette convertible and a 427 cubic-inch engine.”

The 60th Anniversary Package and 427 Convertible will make their public debut at the Barrett Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Jan 21, and will arrive at U.S. Chevrolet dealers early this summer.

The Corvette 427 Convertible blends elements of the Z06 and ZR1 models to create the fastest and most-capable convertible in Corvette’s history.

Its heart is the 427-cubic-inch (7.0L) LS7 engine from the Corvette Z06. Rated at 505 horsepower (377 kW) and 470 lb.-ft. of torque (637 Nm), it is the most powerful engine ever installed in a production Corvette convertible – and, like the Z06, the 427 Convertible is only available with a six-speed manual transmission.

The LS7 was co-developed with the Corvette Le Mans-winning GT1 engine and features lightweight titanium connecting rods and intake valves, as well as racing-inspired high-flow cylinder heads and a dry-sump oiling system. It is assembled by hand at GM’s Performance Build Center, where customers who purchase the 427 Convertible Collector Edition can purchase the Corvette Build Experience option and assemble the engine that will power their new car.

Supporting performance elements in the Corvette 427 Convertible include the driveline and rear axle system from the Corvette Z06, a rear-mounted battery and standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control. The standard 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are wrapped in ZR1-style Michelin PS2 tires. Lightweight machine-face Cup wheels – introduced on the 2012 Corvette Z06 with Z07 and Corvette ZR1 with PDE performance packages – come standard and include unique gray-painted pockets. Black Cup wheels or chrome ZR1-style wheels are also available.

The weight reduction brings the 427 Convertible’s curb weight to 3,355 pounds (1,522 kg). Combined with its 505-horsepower LS7 engine, it gives the 427 Convertible a power-to-weight ratio of 6.64 – or one horsepower for every 6.64 pounds of vehicle mass. That’s better than:

2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427The combination of low mass and high output will make the 427 Convertible one of the fastest convertibles in the world, delivering estimated 0-60 performance of 3.8 seconds, quarter-mile performance of 11.8 seconds, lateral acceleration of 1.04 g and a top speed of more than 190 mph.

The 427 Convertible is available in 2LT, 3LT and 4LT trim levels and will carry a unique vehicle identification number sequence, similar to the Corvette ZR1.

Toyota Reveals NS4 Advanced Plug-In Hybrid Concept
'Vision of the Future' Concept Vehicle Features Advanced Powertrain, Human-Machine Interface and Safety Features

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS), today revealed the NS4 advanced plug-in hybrid concept vehicle at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The NS4 signifies Toyota’s vision for future mobility with a focus on connectivity and the human interface.

Toyota engineers were challenged to design a new mid-sized concept for potential global market introduction by 2015. The NS4 concept is a dedicated plug-in hybrid, separate from the Prius family, designed with future mobility requirements in mind.

“In this digital age, cars are becoming another spoke in the wheel of our electronic connectivity,” said Jim Lentz, TMS president and chief operating officer. “NS4 demonstrates Toyota’s take on the human connection to the car with technology that considers both emotional and rational relationships, person-to-car and car-to-society.”

NS4’s advanced powertrain targets a next-generation Hybrid Synergy Drive plug-in system featuring reductions in component size and weight with improved overall fuel economy, better acceleration and longer all-electric range, while maintaining a short charge time.
Sleek, Futuristic Styling
The NS4 concept signals a new styling direction for the Toyota brand aimed at creating an emotional connection with consumers. NS4 styling lines reflect a new take on the aerodynamics of the modified triangle, with a low height and cabin-forward tilt. The distinctive open trapezoid grille is accented by a floating lower spoiler and wing-like daytime running lights wrapping around to a sculpted fender. Rear lamps wrap around the sides of the vehicle to quarter sections layered into blistered fenders, while the rear lamp wings create a sharp edge and the effect of a rear spoiler.

crush integrity. The roof line profile, lift back design and powered swan-wing doors create greater accessibility and efficient functionality.
Increased Connectivity
Traditional vehicle development cycles average four years, but this is rapidly changing in the digital age. Vehicles have become another communication hub in the connected-consumers lifestyle and automakers must integrate the latest technologies into their product offerings. In fact, connected vehicles are the third-fastest growing technological device, behind smartphones and tablets.

Toyota has formed special alliances with technology leaders such as Microsoft, Intel and Salesforce to explore the creation of seamless vehicle interfaces with emerging technologies. These alliances will help ensure Toyota is at the forefront of this emerging sector of the automotive market.

The NS4 concept’s Human-Machine Interface (HMI) provides a user interface built around a multi-touch screen with the look and feel of a smartphone. The simple, intuitive operation conveys information quickly while minimizing distractions and maximizing driver awareness. The multimedia and vehicle-controls enhancement also will direct air conditioning, audio, battery-charge and navigation functions. The HMI system is even capable of “learning” driver preferences and habits to anticipate driver responses in specific environments and situations. This concept represents a truly connected vehicle, offering the latest technology in a responsible and convenient package.
State-of-the-Art Safety Features
The NS4 introduces a next generation Pre-Collision System (PCS) with lane departure, rear-end and pedestrian collision avoidance technologies designed to predict collisions under certain circumstances and help avoid them. This PCS uses millimeter-wave radar and stereo cameras mounted on the front of the vehicle to detect and react to lane departure, pedestrians and other vehicles. In addition, the system emits near-infrared beams to enhance PCS recognition at night. This driver assistance feature helps to avoid collisions with other vehicles, road-side obstructions, and pedestrians by applying the brakes and manipulating steering.

The current generation PCS, available in certain Lexus and Toyota vehicles, is designed to identify certain objects directly in the road ahead. If PCS determines that a collision is imminent, the brake assist system is placed in standby mode, a warning is displayed and a buzzer sounds. If PCS determines that a collision is unavoidable, the system still will alert the driver via a warning light, warning display and buzzer, apply the brakes and automatically retract the driver and front passenger seatbelts.
Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) headlights help prevent vision-impairing glare to oncoming drivers and pedestrians. Using a camera mounted behind the front grille and partial shielding inside the headlights, this feature allows drivers to maintain near-high beam illumination to improve nighttime visibility.

The pop-up hood structure automatically raises the rear of the hood to increase the space underneath, helping to reduce pedestrian head injuries caused by a collision with the front of the vehicle, within certain speed ranges. This innovation is the result of testing and verification using both conventional crash-test dummies and Toyota’s Total Human Model for Safety (THUMS) virtual model.

Using sub-millimeter wave radar, the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) is designed to detect a vehicle in the adjacent lane and visually alerts the driver using visual indicators placed in the upper dash.
Four new glass technologies are integrated into the windshield and front triangle, door, and rear windows to improve driver visibility, gas mileage and electric driving mode mileage efficiency:
• Hydrophobic coating – Fluorine coated glass causes rain drops to form into semispherical shapes for improved visibility and rain drop elimination (also used on the roof solar panel)
• Anti-fog film – High performance resin material with anti-fogging characteristics and increased durability
• High ultraviolet (UV) absorbing inner-layer – Removes 99 percent of harmful UVA and UVB rays
• Anti-solar film with radio-wave transparency – Reduces the internal vehicle temperature and improves electronic device functionality

Inner and outer rear view mirrors have been replaced with cameras that provide the driver with a panoramic rearward view. The rearward image is displayed on a dedicated dashboard mounted screen above the navigation screen and provides a wider view than conventional rear view mirrors. The rearward panoramic camera view working in combination with the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system enhances driving visibility.

“The continued success of our conventional hybrid vehicles has laid strong groundwork for market acceptance of future advanced technologies,” said Lentz. “NS4 demonstrates Toyota’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the safety, efficiency, and convenience of future mobility for people everywhere."
